The urban public transport of the county capital of Euskirchen is planned and managed by the communal management company Stadtverkehr Euskirchen GmbH (SVE). The SVE is also responsible for the urban parking. The SVE is a member of the regional transport authority Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg. |

With public transport frequency double the national average for over 30 years, the public transport network of Besançon still has the title of the city with the highest modal share of public transport, even outstripping cities endowed with tramway and metro. Keolis- Besançon (former Compagnie des Transports de Besançon) is engaged in a permanent process of improving access for the customer and has carried out many award-winning innovative campaigns.
In the PROCEED project the target is to substantially improve on these efforts, profiting from international experience and the European partnership, but also providing the essential feedback from hands-on experience of a public transport operator.

What is the solution for public transport in a medium sized city if the bus system is regarded as not attractive enough and a modern tram system is too expensive? The solution might be to build a new city bus network in the same way as a tram system. This example with the motto "think tram - use buses" comes from the city of Jönköping in southern Sweden.
